Natural Soapstone Samburu Abstract

A marvelously evocative work of abstract art, our soapstone (or kisii) sculpture is hand-carved by members of the Gusii tribe in Kenya. The artisans use small knives called kisu to do their impeccable carving and polish the finished work using wet sand.
